Advisory for Indian Students

(As on 1st June, 2025)

  • Indian students desirous of studying medicine in Uzbekistan, if at all decide to engage an Education Consultant (EC), are advised that they avail services of only those ECs whose businesses are registered in India.
  • Before the signing of the contract with EC, students and their guardians should seek EC’s Corporate Identification Number (CIN), Tax Deduction & Collection Account Number (TAN), and Permanent Account Number (PAN).
  • ECs should be asked to  provide their address and contact details both in India and Uzbekistan.
  • Students are also advised to go through their websites and social media handles.
  • As this Embassy has been receiving some complaints relating to fraud, non-payment of fee by some of the ECs to the university and non fulfilment of contractual obligations, it is reiterated that the contract agreement signed between the student and the EC should clearly mention services being rendered by EC, charges on the same and payment schedule. The Embassy in its previous advisory issued on 18 January, 2024 has mentioned list of authorized agents as received by the universities  in Uzbekistan.
  • Students should also ensure that they fully comprehend their contract/agreement/acceptance letter issued by the universities. The document should clearly mention the tuition fee which is required to be paid by the student for the entire duration of the course. If the same is not mentioned, the student should seek information from the university on the amount of tuition fee to be paid each year during the course of the study.
  • Students must seek itemized breakup of all charges including accommodation, food and other expenses.
  • Please note that some newly established institutions particularly private universities may lack infrastructure and laboratory, English speaking faculty and hence not meet NMC’s Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) regulations 2021.
  • Students are also advised to come on student visa to study in Uzbekistan. Few cases of students coming on e-visas have come to Embassy’s attention.
  • In case of any difficulty being faced, the Consular Officer of the Embassy may be contacted at cons.tashkent@mea.gov.in
