Information about Visa Services
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR VISA APPLICANTS
- With effect from June 17, 2013, Embassy of India, Tashkent has stopped accepting the old visa forms;
- Under the new system applicant is required to fill online application according to the instructions given on the link: http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa
and upload the digital photo.
- Take a printout of the filled-in form generated in pdf format, carry two copies of same photographs as uploaded on the online application form;
- It is MANDATORY to upload digital photograph on the visa application filled online as per parameters given at http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa
(photo requirements). Application without uploaded photograph will be rejected;
- A printout of duly filled online form with photograph is to be signed by the applicant and presented in person at the Embassy along with requisite fees and all other required documents for issuance of visa;
- Invariably, presence of the applicant at the Embassy is required for providing Biometric Data;
- Separate visa form is required to be filled for each child travelling with the parent even when child’s name is included in the passport of the parent;
- The new visa stickers are issued without signature and stamp from the Embassy.
WORKING HOURS
Visa applications are to be submitted in person at the Consular Section of the Embassy of India, Tashkent
Acceptance of Visa applications:
1000 – 1230 hrs. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Collection of Visas:
1630 – 1700 hrs. on the date specified.
Embassy is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and designated holidays.
Business Visa
General Information
Business Visa is is granted subject to following conditions:
- The applicant is a person of assured financial standing and expertise in the field of the intended business.
- The applicant is not visiting India for the business of money-lending or petty-trading, or for a full time employment in India involving payment of salary in India etc.
- The facility of Business Visa is also extended to senior executives of firms, experts, tour conductors and travel agents, etc., visiting India in connection with work related to projects of national importance, including those undertaken by public sector undertakings, and conducting business tours of foreigners or business relating to it, etc.
- The Business Visa must be issued from the country of origin, or from the country of domicile of the foreigner provided the period of permanent residence of that applicant in that particular country is for more than 2 years.

Other Information
- A person of Indian origin and holding renounced Indian passport copy and surrender certificate copy can apply for entry visa for self.
- Person of Indian origin, his/her spouse and dependent children may be granted entry visa subject to their producing proof of the PIO status, marriage certificate (in respect of spouse) or birth certificate (in respect of the children).
- Foreign national married to an Indian (holding Indian passport) or spouse of an OCI/PIO cardholder and dependent children may be granted Entry visa subject to production of necessary proof.
- Seamen who will be inspecting/visiting a vessel in India.
- Foreign nationals going to India for training (Educational or Athletic) purpose.
- For Sports/tournament from Uzbekistan school/college can be accepted for Entry Visa. Invitation from school/college from India, NOC from Uzbekistan school/college and NOC from parents if applicant is minor.
- For Sports/tournament from Non School &Non-College Invitation from the organization conducting the tournament/ event, MHA Clearance, MEA Clearance, Approval of Ministry of Sports are required.

Tourist Visa
General Information
- A tourist visa is meant strictly for recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, attending a short term yoga programme, short duration medical treatment including treatment under Indian systems of medicine, short term courses on local languages, music, dance, arts & crafts, cooking, medicine etc. which should not be a formal or structured course/programme (courses not exceeding 6 months duration and not issued with a qualifying certificate/ diploma etc.), and voluntary work of short duration (for a maximum period of one month, which do not involve any monetary payment or consideration of any kind in return) etc. and no other purpose/ activity. Please note that tourist visa is neither extendable nor can be used for other purposes including any type of work/employment/contract/ business in India. No other activity is permissible on a Tourist Visa. The Tourist visa is non-extendable and non-convertible.
The government of India in its latest guidelines has decided to lift restriction of two-month gap on re-entry of foreign nationals coming to India on Tourist visa except in case of nationals of Afghanistan, China, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, foreigners of Pakistan (Pak origin) .

TRANSIT VISA (Copies of all papers are required)
Transit visas are also required to be obtained like other visas before departure for the purpose of direct transit to another country through India. Completed visa application form, confirmed air bookings, are required to be produced at the time of applying for transit visa. Duration of transit should not be more than three days.
VISA FOR MEMBERS OF SPORTS TEAMS (Apply for Business Visa)
Sports Visa applicants are required to submit the following documents in addition to the documents mentioned in General requirements mentioned above:
a) Invitation from the authorised Sports Federation/Body in India.
b) Visa will be considered only after receipt of approval of the event by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of Government of India.
c) Letter from local Sports Ministry.
d) Air Ticket booking.

EMERGENCY FEE:
Subject to the approval of competent authority, an additional emergency fee of US $35/- will be charged if:
(i) Visa has to be issued beyond office hours/on holidays;
(ii) date of appointment is preponed;
(iii) visa is issued the same day; and
(iv) date of appointment is preponed and visa is issued on the same day.
Note:
- Visa processing will commence after payment of fee. There will be no refund of visa fees in the event of non-issue of visa. Applicants are therefore requested to ensure that they provide all documents and details and carry all original documents for scrutiny at the Embassy.
- Applicants other than Uzbek Nationals may consult the Consular/Visa section to ascertain the Visa fee.
- An additional fee of US $ 3 will be levied on each Visa document as per Government instructions, as indicated alongside visa fee above.
- Applicants are advised to strictly adhere to the purpose for which visa is sought during their stay in India and avoid overstay.
