Study in India
The Government of India has launched the ‘Study in India (SII) Portal aimed at positioning India as a global study destination and to promote the internationalization of higher education in India
SII portal is a one-stop platform for international students, facilitating application submission, admission processes, and visa applications for those seeking to pursue regular, short-term, or long term courses in Indian academic institutions or Higher Educational Institutions (HEls), thereby serving as a gateway to India’s higher education ecosystem. All foreign students who wish to study in India, will now have to mandatorily register on the SII portal and submit the required information on the portal. Upon registration, the portal will generate a unique ID or ‘SII-ID’ which will need to be quoted on the student visa application. This would also facilitate application of e-student visa using SS-ID via the Indian Visa Portal.
International students aspiring to study in India are advised to visit the ‘Study in India’ Portal and complete the registration process well in advance. Institutions in Uzbekistan may disseminate the above information to their students interested for studying in India to facilitate smooth processing of student visas.
