ADVISORY REGARDING MANDATORY WORK PERMIT REQUIREMENT FOR INDIAN NATIONALS SEEKING EMPLOYMENT IN UZBEKISTAN

The Embassy of India, Tashkent, advises all Indian nationals intending to work in Uzbekistan that a mandatory Work Visa must be secured from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India before commencing travel. All prospective applicants are urged to ensure that they possess a valid Work Permit before accepting any employment and travelling to Uzbekistan.

Key Points regarding Work Permit in Uzbekistan:

  1. Work Visa is Mandatory: Any Indian national intending to work in the Republic of Uzbekistan must enter the country on a Work Visa, which is obtained based on a valid work permit and sponsorship from a legally registered entity (employer).
  2. Visa Fraud Alert: Be highly suspicious of any recruiter, agency, or individual who advises you to travel to Uzbekistan on a Tourist Visa or any other type of visa with the promise of changing it to a work visa after arrival. (This is often a key indicator of employment fraud).
  3. How to Apply for a Work Visa: Legitimate applicants should apply for a Work Visa directly at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India with the required documentation, as listed at https://gov.uz/en/mfa/activity_page/o-zbekiston-respublikasi-vizasi .
  1. Do Not make any payments to recruiters or agencies without the guarantee of the necessary legal documents for a Work Visa application.
  1. Insist that the sponsoring entity provide all necessary paperwork for a Work Visa application before you travel.

On induction of the new Global Passport Seva Version 2.0, Indian passport holders applying for renewal of passports at the Embassy of India, Tashkent are required to mandatorily upload ICAO-compliant photographs while filling out the application. Participate in the 85th edition of the Know India Programme (KIP)

KIP is an engagement programme for Diaspora youth (between the age of 21–35 years) of Indian origin to introduce them to India and promote awareness about different facets of Indian life, our cultural heritage, art and various aspects of contemporary India. This programme is open to youth of Indian origin (excluding Non-Resident Indians) and has been in existence since 2003–04.

The upcoming 85th edition of the KIP is projected to be special and unique since this Ministry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has scheduled participation of partakers of this edition in the upcoming Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD), coinciding with the National Youth Festival on January 12, 2026.

National Fertilizers Limited (NFL)

National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), a Nav-Ratna company under the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. NFL has an annual Urea production capacity of 3.56 Million Tonnes and is the second largest producer of Urea in India. NFL is also engaged in production and marketing of Bio-Fertilizers, Compost and Allied Industrial Products like Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Ammonium Nitrate, etc.

The Government of India and the Indian Fertilizer Industry are coordinating to achieve the goal of improving soil fertility through balanced fertilizer usage and maintaining the ideal N, P, K ratio in soil. As an initiative to improve soil health, NFL has started marketing other fertilizers like DAP, MOP, APS & NPK. The NFL intends to import more fertilizers in the coming years.

I would like to welcome you all as we mark the 60th anniversary of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC). It is a flagship programme of the Government of India and has played a pivotal role in supporting our partner countries through education and training.

Every year, we offer close to 200 fully funded scholarships for Uzbek nationals, providing access to our 50 prestigious institutions across India. These scholarships cover 100 disciplines including:
